As development was well underway on the
She-Ra series
J. Michael Straczynski decided to start creating synopses of the episodes in production. The interesting things about these synopses is that some are different in plot than the final animated episodes, and some have minor differences, such as location changes or character changes. More importantly some of these episodes were never actually made! One of the most notable is
"The Heart of Dark Hope." It's not that hard to comprehend why an episode where
She-Ra,
He-Man AND the
Sorceress team-up to save
Light Hope (Dark Hope) would be a classic! Read for yourself!

Something like this would make a nice "Kowl's Fun Facts" for the PoP-DVDs......maybe attached with "The Crystal Castle"... ;)
That would have been fantastic ... I agree with you, Busta! Such a crossover episode would have belonged in the ranks of episodes like "Horde Prime Takes A Holiday," "Loo-Kee Lends A Hand," and "Gateway To Trouble." Loo-Kee's moral message could have focused on teamwork or cooperation ... Would have made a magnificent addition to Season 2 of "She-Ra." :)
Thanks for posting and reading! God Bless...

I agree this would have made a good story. I don't remember reading the script so I don't know how good it was (or wasn't).
JMS built his synopses from available scripts and outlines since the animation hadn't been produced yet or was just getting started. It took approximately 8 months from script to screen so the writers were just about done with the series when the first episodes were finished.
Some scripts were started but not finished because the execution did not live up to the premise. Other scripts were completed but canned because of other considerations of budget, character usage, better scripts pushing ahead in the schedule, Mattel whining, etc.
Thank you for your interest.

I love reading these early synopses - kind of like the 'He-Man' bible, which also offers a lot of potential story ideas that were ultimately never used.
I can't even begin to describe how much I wish that episode had been created! Especially since I always felt there was a secret connection between the Sorceress and Light Hope, and I would have liked to see that fleshed out a bit.
That would have been a great introduction to Light Hope and the Crystal Castle. But I guess after spending 5 episodes on introducing She-Ra, this would have been one too many.
