Posed like Prince Adam...

The 1987 Masters of the Universe annual was interesting in that it was the first annual to reference the Filmation cartoon visually, as the artists had referred to early conceptual artwork and the toyline before. This image from "The Diamond Sword of Goman" is a perfect example as we can see Skeletor and Beast Man in their classic model sheet poses. But what is more interesting about this image is Tri-Klops. Instead of being in his model sheet pose, he is actually posed like Prince Adam with his hand clutching his belt!

Funny how Tri-Klops' pose resembles that of one of the cartoon characters, but his face is drawn more like his comic book version! I get a kick out of the side-by-side comparison that you assembled between Tri-Klops and Prince Adam, James. :)

Just by looking at this image, Beast-Man and Tri-Klops make an interesting pair of villains working with Skeletor, as seen in the Season 1 He-Man episode, "Eye Of The Beholder." They also get to share a couple of screen-shots with one another during the later half of "Diamond Ray Of Disappearance," as well. :)

Thanks for posting and reading! God Bless...

Haha. Tri-Klops just being relaxed in the background.
Though much better than some of the stock-poses I've seen of Filmation Tri-Klops.

What a great comparison! We must pay attention to see it properly. That image of Adam has been used so often that perhaps the artist "inject" that pose to Triklops! (or perhaps Trikplos spy with multivision and decided to copy the pose of Adam ... haha. Good Job James!

Good eye James. It is interesting to see Tri-Klops in the classic Prince Adam pose. Guess they were just copying the cartoon for inspiration.
