From Eternia?

Snout Spout was a character Filmation had trouble with. He appeared briefly in She-Ra's "Small Problems" episode from season one and reappeared in season two's "Out of the Cocoon", both times under his original name Hose Nose. Both instances make us think Snout Spout is an Etherian, but "Day Of The Flowers" tries to set the record straight by having Adora introduce Snout Spout as a friend of Adam's, adding that they are both visiting from Eternia. This makes so much more sense that Hose Nose fit his Snout Spout toy profile and live on Eternia. Unfortunately it just adds to the continuity confusion surrounding Snout Spout, perhaps one of the most mishandled characters in the series.

I never saw Day of the Flowers, but that makes sense to me. I thought he was from Etheria also. Maybe he was on sabbatical on Etheria.

This pic reminds me of how great the 4HM have made the newer sculpts.

As a Kid I never understood why he was an Etherian but that was because I never saw the Day of the Flowers episode. It would have cleared alot of my questions regarding the character. LOL

Just what exactly is under Snout Spout/Hose Nose's metallic elephant helmet anyway? Is he actually a normal man underneath that or does he have some facial disfigurment? Always curious about that myself.

I agree with you, "Cosmic Falcon" ... Seems highly unlikely that his head may appear to be robotic while he has a human body! Kind of like Mekaneck...

In "Search For A Son," Mekaneck's neck was badly injured in a storm that Man-At-Arms "gave him a bionic neck!" Huh? How is that possible? If any human tried to do that, forget it, the game's over! Made me think of Snout Spout, anyway! :)

If I can remember correctly, in "Day Of The Flowers," Snout Spout was voiced by George DiCenzo, and he used that falsetto-like voice that was also used for characters like Swen, Cutter of the Manchines, and Tung Lashor ... That was always an amusing voice for the character!

Maybe he was twins under different names and each lived in different worlds! :)

Thanks for posting and reading! God Bless...

Obviously, Filmation writers did not know where to place this "new toy" so the mistakes! when I was a child I suposed he was from Etheria, but then, as James says, Adora told about where he came from. I remember also appears in the "Christmas Special".

Snout Spout is one those characters many fans have looked a bit down upon. I feel that is mostly to do with mini-comic "Eye of the Storm" where the character feels sorry for himself. To me the reader will also feel sorry for him.
Growing up I never saw the mini-comic. I only had the toy and I loved the water-spraying gimmick! It was brilliant! Later when I got a VHS-tape with "Day of the Flowers" I very much enjoyed the part about Snout Spout coming from Eternia. :)
