Boreworms!
In the comments section of the Fruit?! post a few days back Aidan "Mosquitor" Cross stated that a reference to Flash Gordon was made in the story "Man-At-Arms: Traitor!" from issue three of the UK Masters of the Universe comic. Indeed he was right; here is that very panel and the reference to Boreworms!

Just out of interest, who does he intend to feed to the boreworms?
Man-At-Arms. Skeletor thinks he has MAA under a brainwashing spell, but it turns out MAA is only faking it.
What I do like about this picture is that the skull of Skeletor looks very unusual, kinda reminiscent of Dr. Phibes from The Abominable Dr. Phibes.
Skeletor looks like he could use a good nap, here. :)
What a wicked fate! Just for a laugh, it would be amusing to see a Horde Trooper being thrown to the Boreworms!

Love this panel. Also enjoy the campy Flash Gordon a great deal.
The other Flash Gordon reference I can remember off the top of my head comes from STAR/Marvel comics in the issue with Hordak and He-Man losing their memories and ending up on another world.
