Night Stalker?

Issue three of the UK Masters of the Universe comic featured a story titled "Jewel of Fire." In the first few opening panels Tri-Klops is shown to be spying on a lone Fisherman making a discovery. As Tri-Klops leaps on his horse to report back to Snake Mountain we see a creature of flesh and bone, but with the exact same color scheme as the robotic Night Stalker, the Evil Armored War Horse! Am I the only one to think this?

That's awesome.
I would have loved to see a backstory on how this horse became the robotic Nightstalker.
You always manage to find some of the coolest MOTU gems.

Hey Busta - somehow I got lost in time and am only now making my way here to your blog - GREAT STUFF!

Indeed I also would love to see a backstory on how this horse became the robotic Nighstalker. I made a custom Nightstalker pre-robot/before the "accident" you can check him out here: http://www.jsunscustoms.com/figures/villains/nightstalker/index.html

Cheers!

The poor animal looks startled as Tri-Klops jumps atop him!

Actually, I forgot about Night Stalker, over time, but I'm pretty sure I used to have the toy. :)

This would have made an ideal episode for He-Man's Season 2, as Tri-Klops deserved more appearances then, plus this would have been the perfect opportunity to showcase Night Stalker in the cartoon.

Magnificent illustration, by the way! :)

Thanks for posting and reading! God Bless...

Hey Busta, that is Night Stalker. If you look on the inside back cover page of that very same issue, you'll see the "Brains, not Brawn" puzzle. The very same organic comic book horse Tri-Klops rides in issue is part of the puzzle and is labeled as "Night Stalker."

The illustration of the horse is "too like" the night stalker. Likewise, I think if the illustrator had wanted to draw that figure, would have more detail. It is very similar in color, as James explains, but doesnot Have robotic details! The main feature of this horse-toy. Awesome discovery!

The colours are very close to Night Stalker.
Thanks for Penny on spotting the mention of Night Stalker in same comic. :)

Interesting to see Tri-Klops using a horse. I always pictured him with some vehicle more than an animal transport.
