Eternia's Storyteller.

A little fun fact for you, and one that I wrote for the BCI He-Man and the Masters of the Universe DVDs, is that the storyteller that appeared in "Not so Blind" and reappeared in "Beauty and the Beast" was actually named Demosthius in the script for the latter. This character was always one of my favorites mainly for his appearance in "Not so Blind."

Interesting info. :) I didn't know he had a name in the script, besides "The Storyteller." I wonder if Demosthius was related to the old man who revealed Castle Grayskull to Teelana ("Sorceress") in "Origin Of The Sorceress?" They both look similar. :)

Voice actor Alan Oppenheimer does an excellent job giving the character the "wise old man's voice," which sounded similar to other characters like Drak's grandfather, from "Hunt For He-Man" and the wizard from She-Ra's "My Friend, My Enemy."

Finally, I find the finale of "Beauty And The Beast" amusing, because Demosthius unexpectedly showed up right outside of Prince Morigor's castle, when Orko went to speak to him about fairytales! Demosthius must have secretly followed the Heroic Warriors to the location, so he could make a reappearance at the closing of the episode! :)

Thanks for posting and reading! God Bless...

I've always found this character interesting, so it's pretty cool to find out his name. I've always gotten the impression from the episode "Not So Blind" that this guy actually knows He-Man's secret- the script seems to hint at this at several points. Any idea if this was the writer's intention, James?

With regards to the above comment, it is not unfeasible that he may have followed the good guys in their adventure- in "Not So Blind" he was able to recount many of He-Man's adventures to the kids, so perhaps he does follow He-Man around to get his stories!

I concur with Aidan's question of whether in the script for "Not So Blind" that the storyteller might know He-Man's secret?

Anyway it's really great to learn his name. I enjoy these sorts of small information tidbits.
Thanks and keep up the great work!
