Our only hope...

Before I forget, one thing I want to let visitors of this site know is that I do not accept Anonymous comments. Why? Well, because I always love to see a person's name credited by their comment! I have had a lot of Anonymous comments in the past, but I have rejected them only because of the name issue, and never because of their content...

And now on with the show...

For some reason as a kid I loved this transformation sequence from the season one He-Man episode "Dawn of Dragoon." Actually I still love it, and I think this is because the transformation occurs so unexpectedly with very little warning, except for the beginning of the main theme...

For your listening pleasure, Our only hope...

This is one of the finest transformation sequences in the series, or as Busta would once describe it, "Adrenaline-Pumped!" :) The theme song playing before Prince Adam draws his Power Sword really hits home, here!

On this occasion, the shot of Adam drawing his sword doesn't pan upward towards the sword, but automatically leads into the stock image of Adam raising his sword in front of Castle Grayskull, instead.

Also, this episode (Along with "Into The Abyss") is the closest Prince Adam gets to keeping continuity with the follow-up shot of him standing in front of the castle during the transformation. Here, however, Adam is facing in the opposite direction, towards Castle Grayskull. :)

The frontal shot of Castle Grayskull, during the daytime, always looked fantastic, as also shown very briefly in other episodes like, "Colossor Awakes," "The Royal Cousin," "Dree Elle's Return," and "The Return Of Granamyr." :)

The funniest part about this scene is that He-Man sounds so irritated when he commands the drawbridge of Castle Grayskull to open, as opposed to his more heroic tone from episodes like "Diamond Ray Of Disappearance," "Double Edged Sword," and "To Save Skeletor!" :)

Thanks for posting and reading! God Bless...

It is a great transformation scene.
I only wish they would have ACTUALLY shown Adam with his back turned against the Castle. So it would have been a great setup for the Transformation, with Grayskull already behind him.

One of these days I'm going to work on some video where Adam is standing on the actual spot in front of Castle Grayskull and lifts his sword, so it'll match the famous image of him while during transformation. ;)
