23 years ago TOMORROW...

On the 5th September 1983 He-Man and the Masters of the Universe debuted in the UK before any other country in the world! Here I present the original magazine listing from the TV Times, as well as the page spread, sporting a large picture of He-Man. It is amusing to see how one little date, time slot, and announcement of a new series would later lead to an almost larger-than-life status for Filmation's cartoon!

Tomorrow is going to be a BIG day for this Blog...

You know, I never tire of seeing that famous TVTimes listing! Not only does it remind me of a time when *gasp* good things actually made it to mainstream UK TV, but it also serves as a permanent record of the *very first* broadcast of MOTU anywhere in the world! And so the legend began...:)

Great shot of He-Man in his "power pose," and this time facing in the opposite direction! :)

Nice to see this ad on your Blog, James! :)

Thanks for posting and reading! God Bless...

I can't believe I missed this post the first I went through your blog. As a part time IMDb contributer, this TV Times listing is of great interest to me. He-Man premiered on the same day as Reily, Ace of Spies!

Is this TV Times spread something you've kept all these years, James?

Or did you find a copy later on for your collection?

In any case a really awesome tv-listing and piece of history. :)

Wow that is a real piece of history right there.

TV Times couldn't have picked a better picture to show off He-Man. Thanks for sharing. :)
