In the opening storyboard page to
"The Taking of Grayskull" we see that artist
Don Manuel has illustrated a beautiful image of
Castle Grayskull with lightning streaking through the sky. The image of
He-Man in the heroic pose is something Don Manuel featured on the opening page of all of his
He-Man storyboards. He would later feature a heroic pose of
She-Ra on all of his
She-Ra storyboards...

Very fitting that there is a rendering of Castle Grayskull with lightning all around, in this illustration, since this episode possibly contains the most lightning effects there could ever be in a He-Man episode!
He-Man's pose reminds me of the one panning shot of He-Man, from She-Ra's "Sweet Bee's Home," after he destroys all of the Horde Troopers and thrusts his sword into the icy ground, while he rests, only for Frosta to grab his attention just a few seconds later. :)
Thanks for posting and reading! God Bless...

Very cool image.
Thank you for sharing it, James!
Love that lightning behind Grayskull. Gives it a nice atmosphere and the title of the episode sounds very ominous (though actual final episode is not as big as I had hoped when first heard the title-name).
You should at some point make a comparison-image of the He-Man and She-Ra poses from these storyboards. :)
