Young couple in love.

Whilst watching "The Time Transformer" from She-Ra's season two the other day I noticed this image showing a few of the villagers of Valley View Castle. What I love about this shot is the young couple in love on the left of the image; the female's slightly coy body language so beautifully drawn. These two characters, especially the female, look like they should be featured heavily in the episode due to their intricate design.

All of these characters look original, and it's nice to get a break from the usual stock character designs for the villagers, this time. :)

The blonde woman on the right reminds me of the young woman Shadow Weaver transformed herself into, for her disguise to fool Bow in "For Want Of A Horse." :)

Thanks for posting and reading! God Bless...

Having tried my utmost to avoid the hideous episode, I must admit to never looking at these characters in detail!! :D

There were a few scenes removed from the episode - as displayed in the moral - so maybe the plan *was* to use one or more of these 'extras'...

...it's still a rubbish episode - but, strangely, a pretty well directed one!

When I storyboarded this episode I pulled backgrounds and extra characters from the Rebel Fair section of PP-08, "The Red Knight." The background and some of the characters were used. But at the end of the pan where these young lovers are, Bow, Adora and Glimmer stood in PP-08. So one of the layout artists added a bit of romantic whimsy to fill in the space.

If you look carefully at the crowd scenes in "The Red Knight" you'll see a lot of interesting characters and not just generic people.

And no, Scorpia, "The Time Transformer" is not one of the better episodes. Most of the time one doesn't get a choice of what to work on. I tried to improve it where I could but there are limits to that.

Despite the episode's "betterness" for lack of proper word, I thank you for going through these crow-scenes and highlighting stuff like this, James!

The couple does look great and awesome addition from the layout artist, as Robert mentioned.
Pays to...well pay attention to details. :)
