The Valley of Echoes...

"The Toy Maker" from He-Man's season two features an exceptionally eerie location, the Valley of Echoes! It provides us with one of the most underrated scenes in the series when He-Man's fear is revealed; I will save that for another Blog entry. For the time being here is a wonderful panning shot of the Valley of Echoes. I am always a big fan of painted backgrounds that show mountains in the distance as I feel it presents an immense sense of depth and distance. It is a shame that the Valley of Echoes never reappeared in the series. It is worth mentioning that "The Greatest Show on Eternia" many episodes before "The Toy Maker" featured Echo Valley, similar in name, but an entirely different location!

There was a different panning shot of The Valley of Echoes, earlier on in the episode, when Orko tells The Toy Maker about the location, but this variation is way more impressive.

One can fall right off the edges of the trail if they are not careful, as shown here ... Amazing how all of the characters, whom were victims of this location, were able to stand on solid ground, as they wandered through the blinding fog all around!

This was probably the most noteworthy and best directed scene in the episode ... He-Man versus the giant image of Skeletor gave me the chills, when I saw this episode as a youngster, and it still does!

Thanks for posting and reading! God Bless...

Two Echo valleys and then there was the Valley of the Lost on Etheria as well. None of those seem like a nice place to visit. But with He-Man, Teela and Rammy I would go anywhere.

Never really paid attention to this image before.

WOW! The path is really twisty-turny! Thank you for making this screen-grab James!

There are lot of nifty small details that make the image a joy for the eyes!
