Weekend Away #4 - The Star Sisters?

The second season She-Ra episode "Bow's Magical Gift" has the rather forced and rather blatant appearance of the Star Sisters. Bow demonstrates his newfound magical weapon while Tallstar, Jewelstar, and Starla watch. For those that do not know, the Star Sisters were one of the last line of toys to be released by Mattel for the She-Ra series, but even though prototype figures were made and advertised, the figures sadly never made it to toy shelves. Thus the Star Sisters, who could have gone onto bigger and better things had the toys and the series continued, remain a very small part of She-Ra's history.

It's too bad that The Star Sisters weren't a vital part in helping The Rebels when Hordak and Shadow Weaver attacked, as it doesn't make much sense to just feature the young women in a brief cameo appearance with no real purpose to being in the episode. Their voices were amusing, though, and I found it facinating that one of the girls had the ability to stretch ... That was far out!

Thanks for posting and reading! God Bless...

I'm always amazed how some prototypes ended up in the cartoon while other toys that were actually released never did.

This blog-entry has once again become a topical subject for January of 2012 with Masters of the Universe Classics releasing a pack of Star Sisters-figures!

Back in the day their appearance was pretty forced, though in season 2 She-Ra there were couple of them instances. ;)
