Zagraz Mountain.
|
A very brief shot from "The Cosmic Comet" shows the entrance to Zagraz Mountain. What I like about this image is the design of the entrance, especially the image showing the comets circling a large star. It always amazes me that the artists at Filmation put so much effort into this background for it to only appear on screen for barely a second!

You know, I don't think that this shot appears anywhere in the follow-up episode, "Capture The Comet Keeper," either ... The fact that this very detailed setting appears very briefly in this shot alone makes it a unique visual treat in the series!
The part of the entrance that features the comets circling the star reminds me of the encore performance Zagras displays for Prince Adam and company in "Capture The Comet Keeper," as the comets move around in the same formation, for that scene. :)
Thanks for posting and reading! God Bless...

This was one of those rare times when the layout artist used my storyboard sketch exactly as I drew it. I'm sending a scan of that panel to James so he can include it in a reprise of this post.
The background was not re-used in "Capture the Comet Keeper" because the episode opens with our heroes enjoying a comet fireworks show courtesy of Zagraz.
But, thanks to James, this rare view of Zagraz's front door can be admired at one's leisure for as long as one wants.
Thanks James, Robert Lamb
