Leopard Elk.

One of my favorite small scenes from the season one He-Man episode "Quest for He-man" occurs when He-Man, struck with amnesia, is given a tour of Gleedil's home. He-Man is shown a gallery of the animals that are extinct due to Plundor's cruel hold over the planet of Trannis. What I love about this scene is how blatant the artist has tried to make the Leopard Elk look like Cringer in an effort to jolt He-Man's memory!

That's right, James! We know whom He-Man is referring to when he states: "This one reminds me of..." :)

A continuity error pops up, a little later, after Plundor's robots intrude and shatter the glass paintings ... After He-Man throws one of the robots into a wall, and he asks himself, "How did I do that?," we can see the painting of the Leopard Elk restored, in the background of this shot, behind He-Man's face!

Thanks for posting and reading! God Bless...

Excellent! I love this scene. It's great to see the variety of creatures Filmation did.

As for the continuity error theory. .I thought they were museum like manequin creatures...not paintings...thus, the glass was broken and the display remained...
Thus, no error!;)

Right! Besides being a beautiful drawing is an emotional situation. We all hope that He-man regain his memory to see this cat so similar to his good friend Cringer. I did not remember this scene, thanks for bringing it to memory!

For some reason I never really paid attention to how much Cringer-resemblence there was.

Just takes a man with a blog to bring it to my attention.. ;)
