Bow versus Mantenna!

Featuring an extremely weak and uninspiring plot "The Missing Ax" is quite possibly one of the worst episodes of She-Ra's season one. However this one action-packed scene featuring Mantenna attempting to capture Bow is one of the episode's surprisingly interesting moments! You will notice in this scene that Mantenna does not refer to Bow by name, harkening back to the early days of the She-Ra series where they were a band of unnamed rebels that had to walk around in disguise...

Mantenna's role in this episode is probably the standout element in the entire story ... He comes across as cunning and threatening, not backing down from any challenge at all, in this one! Other episodes used Mantenna as comic relief, but he has the forceful and tough personality we usually see in Hordak, Catra, Scorpia, and Shadow Weaver, on this occasion. Mantenna was even bold enough to challenge She-Ra all by himself, as opposed to his cowardly role in "The Unicorn King."

Also notice that Mantenna addresses one of the Horde Troopers by name ... He says something like, "Stand back, Karg!" This little scene took me back to "Secret Of The Sword," when we find out that one of the Troopers is named "Marg."

Thanks for posting and reading! God Bless...

Mantenna was the Beastman of this series in my opinion. He started off really well and then got turned into a slapstick character. cannot wait until the classics figure comes out.
