Goodbye, dear brother.
|
Back in the early days of the Internet, when none of us knew for sure how many episodes of He-Man and She-Ra had been produced, "Shera Makes A Promise" was the first episode that we discovered was a part of a second season. At that time a few of us suspected that this was the last ever episode of She-Ra due to the downbeat ending and farewell between He-Man and She-Ra. Years later we would find out that it was not the last episode, and yet I still believe that it is written as a final farewell between brother and sister...

This episode was probably written as He-Man's final appearance, even if it wasn't aired last. I personally think Assault on the Hive (the last crossover in the official order) makes a far better TV swansong for He-Man; his appearance in She-Ra Makes a Promise seems brief and pointless, like they only brought him in for the sake of it.

That was the impression I had, myself ... On a humorous note, it seemed like He-Man was trying to hint to She-Ra that he wanted to go back to bed, since it was night-time on Eternia (Versus Etheria), as a few other episodes would point out, thus the line, "But for now, I MUST get back to Eternia!" LOL :)
Thanks for posting and reading! God Bless...
