Skeletor versus Randor!

Here is one of many fantastic illustrations by Bruce Timm from the classic Masters of the Universe minicomic "The Search for Keldor". I always liked how Mattel finally made an action figure of King Randor late in the line, but instead of making him a character that just sat upon the throne, they turned him into a warrior! The striking colors on this piece are an example of why this is such a memorable minicomic...

The color contrast between the hot pinks and purples and the glowing green tones (Similar to the greens used in the "Escape From The Slime Pit" story) is amazing!

This illustration reminds me of the all-out action scenes from the "Clash Of Arms" comic! Wonderful work. :)

Thanks for posting and reading! God Bless...

The Mattel guys took a lot of from the Search for Keldor mini when they made the MYP cartoon.
Not just the Keldor origin, but King Randor as a warrior king involved in Eternia’s power struggle. Those mini comics helped shaped the Mike Young cartoon a lot. That would make a great subject for a future blog. It would be especially relevant with the SDCC news this summer!
