Tri-Klops arrives!

As many will know Tri-Klops is one of my favorite Evil Warriors, and yet he was given little time to shine in the Filmation cartoon. Thankfully the early minicomics gave him some recognition with his own minicomic "The Terror of Tri-Klops!" This minicomic really focused on the character's bounty hunting personality, and made sure that he never cowered to Skeletor, as is evident in this panel where the pair meet for the first time!

I've always thought Tri-Klops was one of the most wasted characters in MOTU... the comic shows him how he was always meant to be, as a skilled swordsman and bounty hunter, only really out for himself... he had loads of potential, but Filmation just portrayed him as a generic bumbling henchman and MYP missed the point even more by making him... a technician?! As I see it, Tri-Klops' only real moments of glory are in the early minicomics; the way he always should have been.

Tri-Klops looks like more than a match for Skeletor, right here!

In the cartoon, we've heard some of Skeletor's warriors express envy towards Skeletor, sometimes to his face, and sometimes behind his back, like Evil-Lyn and Beast-Man have, from time to time ... A shame that we haven't seen this side of Tri-Klops as well!

Thanks for posting and reading! God Bless...

Tri-Klops remains my favourite bad dude together with Trap Jaw. He was once my obsession, since I broke the toy at one point and was unable to find a replacement: both he and his steel-jawed pal were extremely rare over here! I ended up having a German friend of my father send one second-hand exemplar by post! I do agree about the cartoon: his special vision abilities were rarely used, and he was also portrayed as rather coward and physically weak. What a shame!
