"She-Ra and the Golden Goose" is one of the
Ladybird books that treated
Catra and her associates as jealous untrustworthy companions to
Adora and her friends. Thankfully this theme would only feature in a few books! Oddly in this particular book
Castaspella is portrayed as having strong alliances with Catra and
Entrapta, and yet the toy line had already established that she was one of the forces for good...

I love how informed this is by the toys. From Catra's intricate belt to the ropes on Etrapta's boots, this artist got it all.
I've heard rumors that how Castaspella was originally conceived as villainous; anyone have any information on this?
The poor ladies looks so frustrated. :( Beautiful artwork and colors, though. :)
Thanks for posting and reading! God Bless...

Perhaps the artist wanted to reflect some of the attitudes of these girls, making them a little more human, as in life: They fight each other, then become friends, then fight themselves again, then become friends again... who knows! Truly speaking, I think it was a small mistake that makes it more fun the relationship between the villains and the magic old-voiced girl Castaspella.
Though I'm not, as I mentioned in an earlier post, a fan of the whole Catra/Entrapta being untrustworthy companions bit, I have to say that it is an incredibly striking and pretty image.
