Here is an interesting illustration from one of the early
Masters of the Universe coloring books. When the concept of
He-Man first came out there were many interpretations of the characters, and one theme that occasionally reared its head was
Skeletor's desire to marry
Teela! Fortunately this would be abandoned by many other canons, but it is interesting to think what it would have been like had they made an episode that featured Skeletor attempting to make Teela his bride! Also notice that in this illustration
Battle Cat has no armor for some reason...

What a memorable episode that would have been! Teela looks like Jessica from Filmation's "Ghostbusters," here. :)
Thanks for posting and reading! God Bless...

I used to have that one! As a kid, in the pre-internet days, I always had a difficult time with this particular story/coloring book, because Filmation was the main source of my information. To me, it was odd enough that Teela had long hair that she let down, but that Skeletor would want to marry her...? Too much! :)
Actually this must be the weird peeping-tom-skeletor that was portrayed in the early mini comics... he was a little bit libidinous... any way the helmet less battle cat will be probably portrayed as on the toy package... (more than the companion from he-Man)
This is another reason I liked the earlier Coloring Books. They also had stories to go along with the coloring :-)
I didn't even need to look at the illustration here, just the title cracked me up! Reminded me of Triple H's wedding to Stephanie McMahon, if this had been the WWF, He-Man would have rescued Teela...only for Teela to turn on him and join the dark side! "It was a set-up all along!"
I always wondered what Skeletor was about to do to Teela here. Strike her down? Not a very good start to a Honeymoon.
I never imagined that Skeletor would settle down and make of Teela an honest woman ... I guess it's the loneliness of evil
