Harry Sabin created a very interesting guest character when he designed the wizard Catillus for the She-Ra season one episode "He Ain't Heavy". One of the best things about Catillus is that he did not look like the typical guest character. Without offending anyone Filmation often tried to keep their guest characters locked into a certain physique so that stock movements could be applied to the characters with little effort. She-Ra was notable for breaking away from stock designs as soon as the series started production. Catillus' physique is unlike any other character in the show. John Erwin's appearance as Prince Adam and He-Man in this episode meant that Catillus was voiced by one of the best Filmation voice actors when John was given his role!

That gygantic nose makes him look too much cartoony.

I like his design, it's pretty original: it's not just the physique but the face, too :)

This guy doesn't even look like your usual wizard either! John Erwin uses a voice for the character that is similar to Tabor's from He-Man's "Eternal Darkness" episode. I get a kick out of how Catillus fumbles for the right word, "Explode," near the end of the "He Ain't Heavy" episode, while making his statement to which Bow helps him finish the sentence. :)
Thanks for reading! God Bless!

It really is a testament to the greatness of Filmation's design team that they managed to combign such cartoony characters with the more realistic once and it still all worked as one conitnuity. And the fact that this guy is voiced by He-Man himself only proves that point even more.
