Looking skyward.

Here is a beautiful illustration by Robin Davies from the Masters of the Universe Ladybird book "The Iron Master". I personally love the bold colors in this image, as well as the strong line work and shadows on the characters. It is interesting to look at this image and compare it to one of the later Masters of the Universe Ladybird books where Robin's style had been influenced by the Filmation cartoon and thus streamlined...

I fondly remember the art on the early He-Man ladybird books. They were gorgeous looking books.

Impressive! This reminds me of two moments in the He-Man cartoon that feature such a character line-up ... The first is of He-Man with Man-At-Arms and Ram-Man behind him in a scene from "Reign of the Monster," before He-Man smashes through a rock wall with his fist and the other is of an upshot of He-Man and friends featured a few times throughout the "It's Not My Fault" episode. :) Thanks for reading and God Bless!

Beautiful colours. I remember seeing this as a kid and thinking that especially Ram-Man just looked cool and like a real, determined hero.
