The Cosmic Enforcer attacks!

I was always a fan of the original artwork that appeared on the earlier Masters of the Universe figure card backs. I was overjoyed when one of my favorite images, that of Zodac attacking He-Man and Man-At-Arms, was featured as a pin-up in issue fifty-seven of the UK Masters of the Universe comic. It was a great shame that this style of artwork was dropped from the card backs after the first couple of waves of the toyline.

It's always unusual to see Zodac's boots indicating that he has feet like Clawful or Whiplash, such as here and the action toy version, whilst in the cartoon his boots seemed to show he has human feet!

Again, lots of amazing "sharp" and "shocking" detail was used for the background scenery here! It's incredible how well this environment was rendered by the artist! Neat effects on how the yellow from the explosion blends in with the blue skies. :)

Thanks for reading! God Bless...

I always wonder so much as a kid what exactly Zodac was, what his purpose was, and what his alliance was. Seeing him attacking He-Man is a very cool concept...I would've liked seeing Mattel push him as the bounty hunter they had initially thought of.

What did Man-at-Arms do to piss of Zodac? His arms look really long in the artwork.

I loved the vintage artwork from the cardbacks. I used to cut them out as a child and put them in a box. I still have them to this day. And I always loved the art depicting Zodac as a villain.

When I was a kid This image confused me a lot! At that time I did not understand why Zodac was attacking He-man! We had already seen in the series and he was a good guy. Well... Mattel and Filmation
inconsistencies!

I wonder how much sales of Zodac were hurt by him taking such a low-key role in the DC comics and Filmation cartoon. It's a good thing he had this Power Pinup to remind people of his potential.

Its unusual to see this on the card back but for me it actually makes the character more interesting as i always thought Zodac was a very dull character!

Always thought Zodac was a neat idea that they could never really follow through on, giving him the Cosmic Enforcer gimmick. It's got to be tough finding reasons for him to balance things out and help Skeletor's crew.

This is a nice image. I, like most kids, was also always confused. When I would set up my figures around Snake Mountain, etc. I never knew if I should have him standing WITH He-Man or firing at him!
