"The Third Sword" #10

Here I present the final two pages of "The Third Sword", an epic tale that appeared in the one-shot UK Twins of Power special. Even though the print quality is questionable, the story reaches a logical conclusion!

I still have that Twins of Power comic! I remember being disguisted at first as "She-Ra was for girls", but soon came round to accepting it!!

One thing I do remember of those comics though - was that He-Man really didn't look very muscular and heroic in many shots. Many panels made him look like some scrawny high-schooler. His face in particular was often way off. It's a shame, as the stories themselves were often very good.

Definitely a great comic overall, but what I dislike about the story is that it portrays Skeletor and Hordak as nothing more than the bumbling assistants of Horde Prime, whom it makes out to be the REAL villain of the whole franchise... and thus makes every regular story seem kind of pointless by comparison, for where's the excitement if the usual villains are just fools who are bound to screw up every scheme, and are just tools of the real villain anyway that can be replaced at any time?

The She-Ra series made that mistake with Hordak by turning him into the bumbling lackey of Horde Prime, which is what made POP a highly flawed series IMO, helped in no way by the fact that Prime himself was portrayed as equally dumb and incompetent. Thankfully the He-Man series never made that mistake, for as much as Skeletor may have been dumbed down towards the end, he was always the true villain and the most evil of all!

After such a thriller, you wonder how Horde Prime can top this attempt to conquer Eternia and Etheria, in regard to the caption at the end of this story! I have to laugh when both He-Man and She-Ra tell their allies that they will explain their absense after they win their battles without any doubt in their minds! After what our heroes already went through, helping their friends out in their own struggles, near the end of the story, is a piece of cake. :)
Thanks for reading! God Bless!

I can't even begin to say how appreciative I am of you posting the "Twins of Power" story! I am one of those fans who LOVES the Horde Prime concept, and so, to see him in action, is awesome!
