Entering the Doom Room!

Here is a fantastically dramatic splash page from issue sixty-eight of the UK Masters of the Universe comic. There are numerous things to point out in this illustration, but I will keep it brief on this occasion. I love the fact that there is a wonderful sense of depth due to the artist illustrating Man-At-Arms on a separate part of the ground which curves towards the sprawling background. The detail and the numerous skulls that fill the wonderfully named "Doom Room" also contribute to the atmosphere in this illustration.

Very interesting--I'd love to know more about this story. Who's holding Evil-Lyn hostage, and why's Man-At-Arms trying to rescue her (aside from the whole 'I'm a hero' angle)?

Another "Wizard of Oz" kind of setting! I like how Evil-Lyn is posed in a similar fashion to her very first appearance in "Diamond Ray of Disappearance." :)
Thanks for reading! God Bless!

First Young Sherlock Holmes rips off Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, and now this! But it's very impressive nonetheless. Especially since Duncan seems to be the only hero at hand here!

Curious Fact: in the Finnish comic, this page is completely omitted.

We see He-Man and Orko trick Scare Glow and Jitsu, with He-Man ending up knocking their heads together. Next page shows a close up of Man-At-Arms screaming, then he climbs up the stairs as Skeletor watches over (thus the reader never sees the surroundings fully or the giant skull to which Evil-Lyn is chained to).

This is propably due to publisher not sending original full comic to be translated.
Or the finnish distributor edited the splash-page away for page-count reasons. The issue has total of three stories. All 16 pages long.
