Skeletor's floating head!
One of my favorite scenes from the Masters of the Universe animated series by Mike Young Productions appeared in the episode "The Price of Deceit" written by longtime He-Man scribe Larry DiTillio. For the first time in the series we discover that Skeletor's head appears to be magically independent from his body, and floats in a very mysterious and somewhat creepy way. These two specific images really showcase the wonderful imagination of the artists.

While I loved this imagery--and was thrilled to find out how his head actually "worked"--I instantly recalled the scene from one of the earlier season 1 episodes of this series wherein Skeletor is seen holding (and presumably drinking from) a goblet. I mean...where does the liquid go? I hope he's got a drycleaner on the Dark Hemisphere, or else his cowl's always going to be a mess!
when i saw that head it was like... OMG!!! it floats... then i was worried what would happen if he felt down... or got a kick on his head?? would it be rolling al over the place??? i could picture him as soobydoo's velma looking for his head (instead of the glasses)
This is also one of my favorite post i this amazing blog that on Jam 2012 got into over 1250 post!!!
I thought that was a great touch and added to why you see nothing esle in Skeletor's hood except his skull. Very creepy aspect!
While in the ladybird books Skeletor´s neck was shown to be somewhat bone-like or made out of yellow muscle-tissue - which in itself is rather creepy - I prefer this version. In my opinion, one of the few great design ideas from the new cartoon.
This was great to see how Keldor became Skeletor and with his cloak down, seeing what was underneath it. love the laugh as he sees his head!
Even though this scene looks so creepy and cool, I still always picture his head attached to a neck. This looks very "Ghost Rider" like.
I remember seeing this for the first time and I was like WHOA! Freak cool! With a bit of frightening too! Again it was one of the cool things that the 200X series did that I loved!
