Shakra was Mara?

We know that on many an occasion Filmation would reuse character models in both the He-Man and She-Ra series. However, a notable character model was almost reused in a season two episode of She-Ra. Mara from Filmation's Blackstar series was originally going to be reused as the model for Shakra, the character that appeared in the episode "The Caregiver", and who was revealed to have taken care of Adora during her time spent with the Horde. Now while I am pleased that they created a new model for Shakra I think it would have been interesting to see Mara and Adora side by side...

The character design chosen definitely works better! The Mara design looks a little TOO "cartoony" for my liking, plus I could see an individual like that as a member of The Horde ... In addition, I think that if Admiral Scurvy ("Anchors Aloft") had a love interest, it would have to be a Mara look-alike. :)
Thanks for reading! God Bless!

"The Caregiver" was such an interesting episode. I enjoyed it, but also felt like it detracted too much from Hordak's and Shadow Weaver's parental roles in Adora's early life. I always liked to imagine that, deep down, Hordak was just a really dysfunctional father who legitimately grew to care about the baby he stole.

Ah, Mara, another Filmation beauty. And with the same skin colour as Madame Razz and the Twiggets... so who knows, they might all be related after all.
