Glimmer's crazy purple hair!

The She-Ra season one episode "Glimmer's Story" is by far one of the worst episodes of the entire series. This is often a depressing episode for me, as Glimmer is one of my favorite females from the She-Ra series; and visually one of my favorite character designs. So it becomes even harder to accept the episode when the script dictates that Glimmer's gorgeous pink locks should be replaced with a giant purple wig! Of course the gag is that the wig is supposed to look ridiculous, but the fact that it remains on her head for seventy-five percent of the episode does not help ease the pain!

It's very hard to fathom exactly what Filmation were thinking with the production of the "Glimmer's Story" episode. It's even harder to fathom why they didn't just sack Don Heckman ages before!

After watching "Small Problems," it's kind of hard to respect Glimmer, so she wasn't one of my favorite females, sad to say. I prefer someone like Castaspella or Flutterina as a favorite female. :) About Glimmer's hair ... I thought that was her actual hair style and that it came out frizzy as a result of it being colored purple. That's an awful shade of purple too ... Looks more like a navy blue. A shade more like the purple tones within Glimmer's clothing would qualify as "purple," to me! I actually enjoyed the episode in a strange way, including the "Power of all Etheria" scene. :)
Thanks for reading! God Bless...

I never got why Glimmer thought that changing her hair from pink to purple would attract the guy she was interested in... And James, purple is more or less okay for her hair I guess - imagine if they were to make her hair green...! ;-)

I don't know why they didn't just give her natural, blond, brunette, black or red hair. It would've changed her appearance, maybe even enhanced, they went for the streaked look. Hell even Jem's hair would've been better!

Just when you thought Big Eighties hair couldn't get any bigger and more 80s, Glimmer's Story comes along. But in a world where all the girls have crazy hair colours, why whould she think this would impress a man? Still, it's not as bad as the some of the male character from Jem.

This is absurd. It's like Glimmer was the bratty teenager sometimes. She was a bit of a powerhouse in the first few episodes and then grew super annoying... almost like Dawn from Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
