A long way down!

Here is an illustration by Robin Davies from the one-shot Ladybird Masters of the Universe annual; specifically from the story "Dragon from the Lost Valley". I love the angle on this illustration, creating a good sense of depth, especially with the small pieces of rock falling towards the waters far below. This illustration would actually be redrawn by Robin Davies, in a style closer to the Filmation series, for the Ladybird book "He-Man and the Lost Dragon". Notice that He-Man does look oddly calm...

If I understand, you love in this picture especially the angle of the shot, but not as He-man is drew?
Right?

I have all of the He-Man annuals & ladybird books (I think).
I always kinda hated the illustrations, it was like they hadn't ever seen an episode of he-man.
Great pictures, just a shame they weren't more like the characters.

In other news, have you heard THQ now has the rights to make a He-Man video game! http://bit.ly/g5IUeH
The have to make a Sword of Power Wii accessory

Yeah, kind of looks like He-Man when he speaks to The Sorceress with telepathy in the Filmation series! This image brings so many "bridge" and "bottomless pit" scenes from the cartoon series to mind, like "The Shaping Staff," "Fraidy Cat," and "Not So Blind!" Thanks for reading and God Bless! ~"KevyGuy" :)

For my part, I always thought that the ladybird books had the best illustrations of all MOTU.
