Orko's comic strip #22

Almost every issue of the UK Masters of the Universe comic featured an Orko comic strip on the inside front cover. As this Blog continues I will try and feature all of them for your amusement. Here I present the "Orko the Magician" comic strip from issue twenty-two. In this story we see Orko create a monstrous lizard, and understandably flee from his creation! That said, whatever happened to the creature?

Here's what happened:

Orko was nursed back to health through the winter following the shock of seeing his creation. The creature fled to the woods where it terrified all who saw it. It attempted to befriend a blind man, but the attempt failed when the blind man's family returned home and saw the creature. So the creature killed Orko's brother in revenge, then tracked down its creator, scathing Orko for its wretched existence and demanding he make it a female companion of its kind.

Orko was about to create a female companion, but abandoned the experiment as the creature came to collect its bride. The creature swore eternal vengeance upon Orko and vowed to be with him on his wedding night. Shortly afterwards, when Orko married Dree Elle, the creature made good on his promise and killed Dree Elle on the evening of their wedding. Orko pursued the creature across all sorts of vast, rough terrain, until they wound up in the frozen wastes of the Northern polar regions of Eternia. Orko developed hypothermia and was picked up by a passing ship. Orko told the captain his story before he died from exposure. The creature realized he was no longer being tracked and came on board the ship, where he was moved to tears with regret upon seeing the dead body of Orko, the creator he had destroyed. The creature fled from the ship and headed for the Northernmost extremity of Eternia, vowing to kill himself by cremation at the Northernmost point.

The "grown" version has a face more like a snake than a lizard!
