Skeletor has the power!

Here is a memorable image from the He-Man season one episode "Evil-Lyn's Plot" of Skeletor holding the Sword of Power in exactly the same way He-Man does during the transformation sequence. I do not think for one second that the storyboard artist and director tried to disguise the fact that the same basic animation was used. I would like to think that it was an intentional choice to give the scene a little more impact. Interestingly, moments before, Skeletor actually declares, "Now I have the power!" If only he had been in this pose at the same time...

A memorable pose ... I believe that you used to call this the "Power Pose" on the Episode Review Website, James. :) Skeletor must have been listening in on one of He-Man's transformations to be able to quote that line! Thanks for reading and God Bless! ~"KevyGuy" :)

I remember that...it's so similar to the one of He-Man's transformation sequence that I was almost expecting Skeletor to transform into someone else during this pose!

That's the stock system at work. I think the reuse of poses helped burn He-man into all our brains at a young age. Each episode was new, yet familiar.

Lol! thats hilarious. My boyfriend always loved all the reused animation in He-Man and She-Ra. Next time we watch this i need to point it out.

It would have been brilliant to see skeletor hold the sword like this and panthor just run off" doubt panthor would have been scared!

You could still use this screengrab and paste that line while it's stilled or mix it in with the moving images.

Yeah this was a great animation moment to have the villian do the same pose as the hero.

Now I can imagine Skeletor from New Adventures holding up his Havoc Staff in the same way to He-Man in that show and would transform to his Disks of Doom version whenever he wanted, now that would have been a cool concept. :)
