Bermuda shorts?!

Here is an interesting excerpt from Bob Forward's script for the season one She-Ra episode "Horde Prime Takes A Holiday". Earlier in the script Bob mentions that Horde Prime should not be seen; which makes sense to us, as his actual look was never revealed during the series. However, at the end of the episode the script states that upon Horde Prime's return he should be seen "decked out in dark tan, Bermuda shorts, and a wild Hawaiian-print shirt". I will be the first to express my confusion, and my gratitude that we never saw that particular scene come to life!

I would have love to seen how they would have drawn that. But, I also glad they kept Horde Prime a mystery to us.

I hated the way Filmation made a mockery of Horde Prime. Many fans argue that he's a pointless enough character in the first place, but if he is there then he should at least be portrayed as a dark, threatening and truly evil character given that he's meant to be the big boss over evil. Unfortunately, Filmation made him one of the biggest buffoons of all, an apparent 'evil warlord' who takes holidays, has an annoying kiddie son and celebrates his birthday. The scene described above would have completely destroyed any remaining credibility the character could possibly still have. A sad state of affairs in a series (POP) that all too often made itself far too easy to dislike.

Looking back to the 1/28/06 post, I could see the comic version of Horde Prime in such attire! :) Thanks for reading and God Bless! ~"KevyGuy" :)

I have to say, that this would have been problably one of the most funniest scenes in both the He-man and She-ra cartoon series. But i have to agree, that I am glad that this scene never came to life.
