Dragoon's suggested design.

This incredibly unique illustration of Dragoon was illustrated by Steve Hickner, the storyboard artist for "Dawn of Dragoon", the season one episode of He-Man. The model department looked to this illustration for ideas and extrapolated the parts they felt would work in animation, whilst making the character's physical structure more imposing. As interesting as it is to see this early design, I am glad for the final character model that appeared in the actual episode, as I feel it was one of the best of the series!

It's always fascinating to me how character designs evolved from something weak to something awesome. :)

Wicked! This is the kind of character design that could have worked for Morning Star, in the "Battle of the Dragons" episode, but I'd still have to agree on the final version. Very well-illustrated alternate. :) Thanks for reading and God Bless! ~"KevyGuy" :)

Great to see this and then the final product! A very vast difference and doesnt have quite the characteristics of the Dragoon we have now

This design throws up an interesting dilemma - on the one hand I also like the character design for Dragoon that ended up being used, and yet somehow this design more obviously says "dragon", which of course Dragoon's name is based on! :)
