This fantastic illustration of
Mer-Man by
Robin Davies appeared in the
Ladybird book
"Skeletor's Ice Attack". Not only is the angle on the character rather dramatic with the villain coming straight towards the reader, but the fact that only part of the murky depths of the sea are illustrated around the character make it all the more striking. Also, if you look carefully, you can see the eyes of Mer-Man's servants, the
Sea People, all around him!

His angry look is captured to perfection! Would have loved to see this angle of Mer-Man transfer over to animation as an alternate shot of him swimming in the underwater scene from the "Jacob and the Widgets" episode. :) Thanks for reading and God Bless! ~"KevyGuy" :)
I also like this angle. It works well with a character like Mer-Man. It gives the impression that he is swimming up to the surface very fast to battle.
For me, Mer-Man was the real star of "Skeletor's Ice Attack" - his role in this firmly established him as one of my favourite Evil Warriors, and to this day he's still right up there on my list of favourites! :)
