Clawdeen is trapped!
Robin Davies is one of my favorite artists to have ever tackled the He-Man and She-Ra brand. However, he was clearly given a less-than-accurate character model for Clawdeen! In the She-Ra Ladybird book "Spirit is kidnapped" Clawdeen no longer has a fabulous well-groomed mane, and merely looks like an overgrown pink cat!

Maybe when Clawdeen gets angry, her hair may unfurl. I can't think of any other suggestion. She really looks very angry in this art piece
Clawdeen looks like she is still a cub playing with the string. :)

Oh man that is just horrible looking! On a side note, I always wondered if Clawdeen was a girl or boy. I preferred to think of Clawdeen as a female myself.
