Leading the dragon...

Here is another illustration by Robin Davies from "Dragon from the Lost Valley", a story that appeared in the one-off Masters of the Universe Ladybird annual. I love the level of depth in this illustration, combined with the precariousness of the situation, and the dramatic beauty of the world of Eternia, in which we see both the sun and the moon in the sky at the same time. When Robin Davies re-illustrated this piece for "He-Man and the Lost Dragon" he drew it from a different angle.

The color/shading on both the creature and Wind Raider is executed to perfection! This setting has the same feel of the "bridge" scenes from the "Hunt For He-Man" episode for me! Thanks for reading and God Bless! ~"KevyGuy" :)

This piece of artwork is done very well. Robin Davies art really complmented the world of Eternia. the artist knew how to render a piece that looks magical, just like the planet Eternia.

Love how the wind raider is in front of the dinosaur and it looks like teela is moving the dinosaur along. Does this tie in with Binatops in any way?

The word 'epic' is overused in this day and age, but nog when it comes to describing this picture!

Robin Davies was definitely in a class of his own with the Ladybird book illustrations - I love the care and craftsmanship he seemed to put into each illustration, it made (and continues to make) a big difference to the Ladybird books, making those stories feel sweeping and rich. Can you tell I'm a big fan?! :)

I've never seen this image. It's fantastic. The sun and moon at the same time is a nice touch!
