Mattel battle #4

Here is the fourth of four highly memorable illustrations from the 1981 Masters of the Universe Licensee Book. These illustrations were reproduced on many Masters of the Universe items at the height of its popularity! Next to the first illustration I revealed, this is my favorite. I love the power of this illustration and the odd way in which the Castle Grayskull weapons are flying through the air!

Yes, it's like a zigzag pattern with the flying weapons, James. :) The drama is great, with He-Man making a fist and Skeletor looking like he's about to stomp on the ground! Thanks for reading and God Bless! ~"KevyGuy" :)

This illustration brings back a lot of memories. This piece was on a lot of the merchandise for the franchise. It exudes a lot of power and a lot of what MOTU is supposed to be.

This illustration screams "classic MOTU" - even from an early image like this you can see the potential for the franchise to be something very action-packed and special! :)

As a total side note, I always love illustrations that show up the bat emblem on Skeletor's armour! :)

A very classic image!! I saw it alot as a child. It's on the sleeping bag I own. I think its very cool that the earlier days of MOTU, the whole world had one look but many interpretions of the one barbarian and sorcery that eventually evoloved.
