She-Ra script: "Reunions" #7

For your entertainment I present to you the rarely seen final script for "Reunions"; the fourth of the opening five part story introducing the She-Ra series. As with the "Into Etheria" script I showcased a month or two ago, reading this you will see a show that is still very much in development. Certain pieces of dialogue were either rewritten or removed during the actual production of the episode. You will also see some interesting notes about characters and locations during some of the scene directions. I will try to point out the more notable things during each post. Here are pages thirty-three to thirty-seven of the script. Beast Man, Trap Jaw, Tri-Klops, Webstor, and Whiplash attack Hordak...

That's a pretty good battle sequence. I always felt that Hordak got into Snake Mountain way too easily in the movie so it's interesting to see the writers had scripted that battle.

Skeletor's remarks to himself, regarding Hordak, in the beginning, are great! The Evil Warriors act like their typical selves, especially Beast-Man and Trap-Jaw ... Plus, we would have been treated to another "villain in the mud" gag. :) Hordak's remark about "better help" and Skeletor's henchmen shaking their heads would have been hilarious additions to the episode! Thanks for reading and God Bless! ~"KevyGuy" :)

On the one hand I like the idea of Hordak having to battle past some of the other Evil Warriors to get to Skeletor - and yet, somehow, for me the idea also takes impact away from Hordak's meeting with Skeletor. The fact that Skeletor is the first person he meets upon his return to Eternia really adds weight to the history between them - so from that perspective, I'm glad the battle scene got cut! :)
