I was always a fan of this illustration from the 1987 UK
Masters of the Universe annual showing
Skeletor with what appears to be
He-Man's Sword of Power. The sword is actually the
Diamond Sword of Goman; an indestructible weapon, which Skeletor acquires as the story begins. If you own any of the
Masters of the Universe comics by
DC, this illustration will be instantly recognizable as one of the panels originally illustrated in issue three by
George Tuska! It is fair to say that the 1987 annual features a lot of art swipes...

HA! I think of "Evil-Lyn's Plot," as soon as Skeletor obtains the Sword of Power. :) Great detail and shading on the blue of Skeletor! Thanks for reading and God Bless! ~"KevyGuy" :)
Those UK Annuals seem to have more in common with the DC Comics continuity than the Filmation continuity - given that some of them were around after the launch of the Filmation show, I've always found this very strange! :)
I've always been surprised about how often artists just used a power sword if they had to illustrate another magical sword. It's kinda like someone created a gazillion swords from the same molds, which all have different powers.
It is funny that the sword looks just like He-Man's sword of power.
