Next time...

Here is another fantastic panel from the Masters of the Universe minicomic "The Terror Claws Strike!" Once again Bruce Timm demonstrates his fantastic command of the comic book page! Skeletor looks almost devilish in his pose in the first panel, whereas in the second panel he strikes a more traditionally defiant villain pose. The coloring throughout these panels is gorgeous, and adds a great deal to the illustrations themselves...

Wow! The expressions on both He-Man and Skeletor are tough to beat, in the first image ... He-Man's look of displeasure is captured with perfection! Usually, it is Skeletor who leaves the scene when he is defeated. :) Thanks for reading and God Bless! ~"KevyGuy" :)

I strongly believe that the reason MOTU was such a hit in the 1980s, and has lived on in the hearts and minds of so many, is because of things like this - terrific artwork that fired up the minds of the fans and sparked their imagination to create their own battles and stories! :)

I gotta agree that the coloring is amazing. However, I never was a big friend of that scene: He-Man doesn't even try to arrest Skeletor! And Skeletor himself doesn't even think of calling his warriors to help. It's like those are just sitting in the hobby room, playing cards and watching TV while their boss is doing his own fighty-fight thing in the basement.

Once again, this page proves that the art in this mini-comic made the book stand out. Bruce Timm is a great artist, and knows how to express emotions in the faces of the characters.

That first panel shows great character in both He-Man and Skeletor! He-Man looks so aggressive but just casts aside Skeletors threats like nothing! Skeletor looks so determined that its surprising he doesn't attempt to put a knife in his back!
