In this storyboard panel from the season one
He-Man episode
"Colossor Awakes" we can see that the artist has paid little attention to the character model sheets.
Ram Man is considerably shorter than
Stratos in the show, but in this illustration Ram Man is as tall, if not taller, than Stratos! If you look at
Orko in the panel, even he looks a little confused as to the size of Ram Man!

Ram Man almost looks about the size of the giant Skeletor, from "The Dragon Invasion," or Cambro from "The Heart of a Giant," compared to He-Man. :) ~"KevyGuy" :)
I love seeing these types of comparisons, especially when Stratos is involved. :-)
I wonder if this was any influence on the 2002 style Ram-Man, who was indeed much larger. I also saw a MOTUC custom out there on the web of Ram-Man made from Killowog's body to make him extra large. I think I prefer a larger Ram-Man. The smaller one doesn't do it for me.
It could be that the artist was in a hurry to finish the storyboard. He may have been running short on time, and didn't pay attention to the height of Ram Man
Ram Man looks huge and Stratos almost looks like Kobra Khan here! Maybe someone pressed the button on the back of his heel? a very under-rated character!
Ah, he was just ahead of his time and thought he was drawing for MYP instead. I used to have to explain to my nephews and a niece why Ram Man was so much shorter in the vintage series... so I just said that over time his constant headbutting of things made him get shorter and shorter! Maybe this was in-between those time periods. ;)
