Here is a great action-packed shot from
"The Iron Master" illustrated by
Robin Davies. As a kid I always liked this illustration; especially the way in which the
Sword of Power is about to be caught by
He-Man. Also note the beautiful star-filled sky covered by the harsh storm clouds; this is foreshadowing for a forthcoming plot device...

Beautiful "sunset" colors for the horse! Reminds me of "Crystal Sun Dancer" from the She-Ra episode, "Assault on the Hive." :) Thanks for reading and God Bless! ~"KevyGuy" :)
This illustration is also great because it showcases four of the earliest MOTU heroes, and the Battle Ram! :) It's a shame Ram Man didn't have his own vehicle though... :)
I wish that Teela had kept the use of her horse in the cartoons. She was heavily featured on her horse in the comics/books but abandoned her steed for motorized modes of transportation in the cartoon. I wonder why?
The Ladybird books didn't get cooler than here! I loved that not only Teela's steed but even the Battle Ram was included here. I just would've let Man-At-Arms drive it, and He-Man ride on Battle Cat. But I guess the scenes would've become too crowded then.
I love Teela's horse! Very cool look and would look great in the classic line! Easy redo of swift wind.
I love the art on this piece. Is it just me, or does it look like maybe Teela is riding Royal Swiftwind. The horse resembles Royal
Swiftwind a little bit.
A very cool picture, Stratos looks like he is ready to clobber someone. The horse i think is going to be one Mattel issues to use the Swiftwind buck.
I loved my Battle Ram toy and used to pack as many characters on it as possible. He-Man and possibly Teela on the sky sled, Meckaneck up on top and Man-At-Arms hanging on the back. Unfortunately it was impossible to put Ram-man on the back like in this illustration.
#50 up! :) I sincerely hope you have enough animation cells to go around, James. Hehe. Anyway, I'm pretty curious now as to why He-man is having to catch his sword. Did Teela have it? If so, why? If not, where did it drop from? I really loved the different books from Ladybird (and was it Golden Books or something) when I was growing up, so this really takes me back. Thanks for the memories!
There really is a lot of action going on in this picture. Beautiful piece :-)
