This fantastic illustration by
Robin Davies from the
Ladybird book
"Skeletor's Ice Attack!" was used as a promotional illustration when Ladybird would advertise their books in magazines. And rightly so! I remember being at school when one kid, who had just managed to acquire this book, came racing over to us. We all stood in the hall, instead of going into class, looking wide-eyed at this awesome piece of artwork! The definition of
He-Man's physique looks impressive, but the power of
Castle Grayskull that surrounds him steals the show!

Based on reading the title of this story, it is a treat to see "icy-looking" effects used for the transformation! Thanks for reading and God Bless! ~"KevyGuy" :)
As MOTU fans back in the '80s, we were very lucky to have such skilled artists bringing the franchise to life, with glorious pieces like this that just take your mind on a journey into Eternia! OK, OK, I'll stop now...! :)
As a side-note, this was also only the second MOTU Ladybird book I ever owned - would you believe that the Ladybird books were also my first ever introduction to the character of Mer-Man?? I was so excited when I saw him turn up in an episode of the cartoon!! :)
This would have been a good illustration on a blanket or on a pillow case. I wish I had such items today....I used a MOTU sheet when I was in college over ten years ago. That was a hit with everyone!
I have the power!
The power of the shine!
The shine of Greyskull!
The shine of Greyskull that makes me look more impressive then usuall! :D
I kind of like the Neanderthal look He-Man has here. Maybe this had something to do with that cave of power he used to hang out in.
This artwork of He-man transforming speaks of how powerful and magnificent the power of Castle Grayskull is. There does not need to be any words written into the piece , all is shown through the art.
Its a great piece and i have these books. Perhaps its something i should show my nephew as this is a great piece. Always great to see the different takes on transformations
Robin Davies Transforms? I thought He-man's alter-ego was Prince Adam! Shows what I know. *Shuffles off into sunset.*
He-Man really looks upset here. And his wild hair makes him look nuts!
