Running transformation.

In these three panels from the Masters of the Universe minicomic "The Battle of Roboto" we see something unique. Instead of Prince Adam merely standing with his Sword of Power raised transforming into He-Man, here we see him run towards us commanding the power of Castle Grayskull as he does. It is an incredibly original take on something we have seen numerous times before...

Great marathon runner pose for He-Man. :) When The Sorceress contacts Prince Adam, the scene is almost the same as in "The Secret of Grayskull," except in that scene, Adam is reading a book and then falls out of the chair, whilst being startled by The Sorceress! Thanks for reading and God Bless! ~"KevyGuy" :)

Maybe an inspiration for a certain video with a Monster and Teela? ;)

How cool would this tranformation have been if they used it in the Filmation cartoon. It would have been a very dramatic moment. Of course if they tried this in the Filmation toon, you would have seen him running as Adam saying "By the power of Grayskull", and then it would have panned to him standing still in front of Castle Grayskull turning into He-Man. Then after he says "I have the power", they would have showed him running as He-Man :-)

We know from the episode "A Friend In Need" that Adam can transform into He-Man whilst falling out of a Wind Raider, so it's not difficult to believe that he can transform whilst running too - I think the only reason Filmation never explored this further is because of the reliance on the stock footage - and the fact that, as kids, we couldn't get enough of that footage! :)

There is not much variation in the way He-Man transforms, considering it is something that happened in almost all media produced after the filmation cartoon been. So I think it is refreshing to see a different situation for the transformation.

I would have loved to have seen a variation on the transformation like this in the cartoon show.

I always liked the special effects of the Cartoon transformation, but I thought it to be a little stale with the same pose all the time. So I always enjoy the transformation in different situations.

This is a nice change. Its always nice to see a different take on the iconic transformation, especially one so dynamic.

This would have been great to see in either series and odd that they never did it! Different transformation sequences would have been amazing!

I guess in 'real life' Adam would actually use this way of transforming more often than just standing still. I mean, this is how Superman does it.

That actually is indeed very interesting. You'd get the impression from the cartoon series that he had to stand still or the lightning would miss him! :)
