Don Manuel's Mother Dragon.

Don Manuel's storyboards for the season one He-Man episode "The Dragon Invasion" reveal numerous gems. Aside from beautiful artwork, the appearance of Strongarm, and a few deleted scenes, we also see that he originally requested that the Mother Dragon be a different shade of green, to distinguish her from the other dragons. Sadly, this was something that Filmation did not do. Aside from the request here we see once again another beautifully illustrated introductory piece for his storyboards.

A shame that the dragons all looked the same. I would have come up with the idea of the Mother Dragon being colored red, as the dragons appeared in the "Battle of the Dragons" episode. :) Great pose for He-Man, in this illustration! Thanks for reading and God Bless! ~"KevyGuy" :)

Love this piece of info. Making her a different shade of green really does make sense. Too bad Filmation did not do that. Thanks for sharing this with us :-)

Dragons....Gems....why do I suddenly think of Spike from My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic for some reason? Darn you, Hasbro! :D

It would have been great if the Mother Dragon was a different colour, so that we could distinquish her from the other dragons, I'm sure Filmation could have at least afforded to have a slightilyy different shade of green. Ah well, it was still a good episode. :)
