He-Man's missing arm!

I have watched the season one He-Man episode "Quest for He-man" more times than I could possibly imagine since the mid-eighties. It was one of those episodes that I recorded when broadcast, hence it got a lot of playtime! However, when compiling images for this Blog I noticed for the first time that on this particular shot, as He-Man is falling through time and space, the lower half of his left arm is missing! It appears that the paint has been applied to the edge of the line art, suggesting that the camera position is incorrect. Whatever the reason, it is an interesting oddity!

Poor He-Man! First his memories, then banished, and on the way he loses his arm! Was Skeletor ever more evil than in this episode? I don't think so.

Could you transfer all of the UK MOTU broadcasts you have and put them up on youtube? Since they're edited, they're unique and thus worth preserving. Plus, it's the only version to my knowledge that has unremastered film look (hair, scratches, etc...). :)

I blame it on the space-time rift he's falling through...

One of the more interesting animation-errors from Filmation's He-Man. :)

Thanks for sharing!

Ha, ha! Looks like he is about to be swallowed by the background scenery. :) His facial expression is actually hilarious too! ~"KevyGuy" :)

I think He-Man has his arm in a "worm hole" that sucked it in. Makes you wonder if somewhere else in the universe someone seen an arm appear in mid-air :-)

He-Man is about to fall into an alternate dimension, ruled by a purple rabbit and you're more concerned about a missing arm?! Blame the rabbit! :D

Seriously though, I didn't noticed that untill now. I guess the artist thought that He-Man didn't need to have hisfull arm in shot or something?
