Sword to the audience!

During production of He-Man and She-Ra Hal Sutherland storyboarded quite a few episodes. Even though he was often in charge of keeping production costs down, he would call for new animation in his boards. Two beautiful examples of this occur in the season one She-Ra episode "Unexpected Ally" in which we see She-Ra point her sword towards the audience, transforming her Sword of Protection to a shield. These two transformations were by far the best-looking in the series!

Agreed! It's also great how this piece isn't stock animation, because She-Ra takes a different pose the second time. I like the urgency captured in the second version, with She-Ra's hair waving about. :) Thanks for reading and God Bless! ~"KevyGuy" :)

I think it's a shame they didn't turn new stuff like this into stock animation for use later. Have two versions of stock sequences just make it seem less like stock.
