Here is an interesting animation cel of
Prince Adam reaching for the
Sword of Power that I picked up a few years back. What is worth noting is that this sequence was actually created as a piece of stock animation, with the belief that
Filmation would use this over and over again. However, this piece of animation was never used in the series! This was almost definitely down to the fact that we can see him unsheathing the sword with his left hand; thus when cutting to the stock footage of the transformation sequence the sword would have swopped hands! One has the wonder how much additional stock animation Filmation created prior to the series that was never used...

Actually it was used in TROUBLE IN ARCADIA: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=PFYwm7HflNI#t=231s
They just flipped it.
Surely they just needed to flip the cel round to use it?
Nice. :) If this image was "mirrored," it would look much like the footage of Prince Adam drawing the Sword of Power as seen in "The Rainbow Warrior" and the She-Ra episode "He Ain't Heavy," but it looks like this artwork is at a slightly different angel ... Would have been a great choice to mix up the usual stock footage if featured in reverse! Thanks for reading and God Bless! ~"KevyGuy" :)
That's pretty cool. There is a stock He-Man animation were he switches which hand he holds the Power Sword in. If they had done that with Adam it might have been useable.
Actually it wasn't used in "Trouble in Arcadia". They created two mirrored stock sequences. I own the unused sequence. The cel I showcase is a reverse of this, which is the point of the post. The sequence (in which he holds the Sword of Power in the correct hand) appears in "Trouble in Arcadia" and "The Rainbow Warrior".
