Throughout this month The Power and The Honor Foundation in conjunction with The He-Man and She-Ra Blog will be showcasing never-before-seen Filmation production artwork.
This illustration shows one of the numerous designs conceptualized for Catra for the She-Ra series. The character design on the left appears to match certain aspects of the action figure, which was in development at the time. The prominent illustrations feature a much looser rendition of the character, although the close-up reveals that even at the early stage the artists were trying to ensure that Catra had very angular facial features.

I actually LIKE these Catras MORE than the one we got. Catra's hairdo on her face pic kinda looks like Frosta!
AKA, Frosta's evil twin! :) Very sexy, especially the illustration in the middle! :)
Good that they made her mask more practical.
There's so many neat images from this month's Filmation February, I feel really treated to be shown the concept art. Kowl yesterday was a hoot, no pun intended, and seeing this early Catra's pretty awesome to. :D
Looks like Filmation Catra started off very close to being her toy design. It's VERY interesting to see how POP developed. - Michael Jenkins
Hmm very interesting. Thanks James for sharing this!
Nothing against this artwork but I'm glad Filmation went with the design that they did.
My absolute favorite. Hell yea
