Throughout this month The Power and The Honor Foundation in conjunction with The He-Man and She-Ra Blog will be showcasing never-before-seen Filmation production artwork.
Lenord Robinson utilized an incredibly bold style when it came to layout artwork. This illustration, from the She-Ra episode "Huntara", shows Huntara from the memorable sequence in which she acrobatically flips towards (and over) the camera. Normally for an episode the layout artwork would total two or three pieces per shot. Robinson illustrated a staggering twenty-eight pieces of layout artwork for this one shot to literally guide the animator as to how the character should move in the scene.

Soooo... anyone won anything yet? :P
Joshua neat contest. Is it for some of the actually seen pieces featured this month, or a mix of both some of them, and things based off what was posted? Or only other pieces not seen? I'm all curious Even if I am not lucky enough to win anything, I'd love to know if more photos will be added of prizes not seen before. Some days I wish I had been more on the ball and entered, there were 2 recent one's that looked awesome. And Jarkko, she does sorta resemble Grace Jones. Who was pretty iconic at the time. (Conan anyone??)
Great expression captured here! Looking at this expression on Huntara's face makes someone like Catra look like an angel, to me. :)
Oh my what a fierce piece of art! Fantastic!
Uninteresting character for me.
